This training, which is carried out to train audiometrists with the test knowledge and skills required in the field of hearing and balance disorders in private and public health sectors, aims to provide our students with the skills of effective verbal communication, working in a team, recognizing and solving problems as well as professional knowledge and skills. With the test methods applied in the hospital, the 1-month summer internships at the end of the 1st and 2nd year allow our students to gain the experience before they start working life. Hereditary hearing loss and balance disorders are mostly congenital. Acquired ones, on the other hand, manifest themselves with increasing age. With this reason, audiometrists will need to be employed more in the process of increasing the average life expectancy and ensuring early diagnosis and intervention in hearing loss and balance disorders. Thus, audiometrists are becoming more and more integrated into the health system day by day. Therefore, audiometrists should be aware of medical terminology and the nature of all diseases with communicative disorders. Audiometrists learn the communicative, psychological approach and test techniques required in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with hearing loss and balance disorder, first theoretically and then practically. |
