Culture and Sports

Dokuz September University, with its high quality education approach, aims to bring creative, entrepreneurial and multi-faceted youth to our country and the world, and has also structured the Directorate of Health, culture and Sports Department for their participation in social, cultural, artistic and sporting activities.
The unit aims to support students ' social, cultural and sporting development by planning activities within the framework of their own fields.
Intercollegiate Theatre Festival, Rock Climbing Festival, Folk Dance Festival, Intercollegiate Dance Festival, Capoeira Festival, go Festival International Ice And Rock Climbing Workshop, Extreme sports festival,Search And Rescue Training Workshop ,Buıldıng Days , water sports festival are organized by the student groups.
Dokuz Eylül University organizes numerous cultural, artistic events, conferences and seminars during the year by the Rector's office and university units.
There are 5 indoor sports halls, 2 football fields, 2 outdoor tennis courts, 2 indoor dance halls and 3 equipped fitness halls within the university campus. In addition to being used as part of the curriculum, sports facilities can be used by students and university members outside of the curriculum and during lunch breaks.
"Football Field With Synthetic Athletics Track “is located on an area of 22.737m² next to Tinaztepe Campus Sports Hall.
Within the scope of sports events, every year; basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and chess branches of the Rectorate Cup is held.
The necessary licensing procedures for the students of our university to participate in sports competitions held outside our university are carried out by the Department of Health, culture and Sports.

İnciralti Semi Olympic Swimming Pool

İnciralti Semi Olympic Swimming Pool is managed by DEU Health, Culture and Sport Facilities Directorate and has 5 lanes and is 25m in length, 12.m width and 2m depth. The DEU students must register after completing the required conditions and they can use the pool at certain hours.

Tinaztepe Semi Olympic Swimming Pool

Tınaztepe Semi Olympic Swimming Pool is managed by DEU Health, Culture and Sport Facilities Directorate and has 5 lanes and is 25m in length, 12.m width and 2m depth. The DEU students must register after completing the required conditions and they can use the pool at certain hours.

Paintball Field

TOur paintball field, located in the Sports Hall complex on the Tınaztepe campus, has a daily capacity of 300 people, where 10 people can play at the same time.

Amphi Theatre

The amphi theatre is managed by DEU Health, Culture and Sport Facilities Directorate, which opened in 2012 and covers 22 000 sqm with a capacity for 5050 people and 257 cars and serves mainly for graduate ceremonies and concerts and the spring festival.

Social Services

The social services unit is managed by DEU Health, Culture and Sport Facilities Directorate to realize the social responsibility projects together with the university and students. The objectives of the projects are to give social service to our students, emphasize social responsibility and bridge between the community and university. 3 Social Responsibility projects were carried out by the Social Services Unit during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Student Training and Recreation Facility

Seferihisar Student Education and Recreation Facilities provide day-to-day and accommodation services in Seferihisar Doğanbey Payamlı in order to ensure that recreation, fun and learning activities take place together.
It has a capacity of 133 beds and has 65 double and 3 single handicapped rooms. Bathroom-toilet, shower, air conditioning, 24 hot water facilities are available as standard, breakfast and dinner are served. It has a 200-seat conference room, internet café, TV lounge, cafeteria, disco, Amphitheater, beach and beach bar.

Sabancı Cultural Center is managed by DEU Health, Culture and Sport Facilities Directorate. It has been built with the donations of the Sabanci Foundation together with a contribution from the Governorship of Izmir. It has two main sections in one building over a 5000 sqm closed area. In the first section is the Hasan Tahsin Hall with an audience capacity of 548 people and its stage and wide entrance area provides the facility for theatres, opera, ballet, concerts and exhibitions. It has a folding orchestra pit, 250 sqm (12 x16 m) stage area. A loading elevator is connected to the stage as well as a cinevision curtain of 6x8 m. All these features make this hall a suitable for all kinds of art activities.
In the second section is the Yuzbasi Serafettin Hall with an audience capacity of 138 people.This hall has a 75 sqm stage area, acoustic architecture and impressive lighting systems.
The center has special classrooms for conservatory ballet students, 4 ballet studios and management and academic staff rooms. Each studio has a whiteboard.
The Sabanci Cultural Center provides the best and most modern conditions for conservatory students. The entrance, second floor and fourth floor foyers are used for exhibitions.
This cultural center has the infrastructure and equipment for all types of art events in Izmir, like concerts, theatres, panels and special events.

Bayrakscience and Turkish Flags Museum

The first national flag museum of Turkey, Dokuz Eylul University Flag Science and Turkish Flags Museum, was opened on September 9, 2020, the liberation day of Izmir.
The flags and symbols of Turkish states and world civilizations, including precious pieces from the collection of the donor Mr. Haluk PERK, are exhibited in four separate halls in the museum, which started to serve in the historical Eylul Mansion in the Dokuzçeşmeler Campus of our university.
Within the museum, there is also an archive section for recording and preserving the past, and a children's workshop that will allow children to spend time in the museum.
