General Description
History |
The Welding Technology Program was established with the aim of raising qualified intermediate staff needed by the manufacturing industry, which is compatible with the developing industry and technology, equipped with theoretical and applied training knowledge, has high professional skills, and can produce fast and practical solutions to the problems it encounters. Those who successfully complete all courses and internships of the students enrolled in the department graduate from the Welding Technology Program and gain the title of Welding Technician. |

Specific Admission Requirements |
Students are admitted to the Higher Education Transition to Teaching Exam (YGS), which is held once a year by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), by providing the admission requirements required by the program. |

Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
The student must complete 2 years of study acquiring 120 (ECTS) credits. This degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum, compulsory 40 days of internship and have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00/4.00 and no failing grades. |

Graduates of Welding Technology Program are employed in a wide range of positions in both the private and public sectors. Our graduates can acquire positions in different fields of the private sector, such as metal and machinery industry including welded manufacturing activities, companies that design and manufacture steel construction, iron and steel and non-ferrous metal industry, automotive and automotive supply industries, rail systems and energy and pipelines, as well as welding machine manufacturing. |

Welding technology associate degree program who has completed successfully the vertical made by Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS), if they are successful in the Materials Science Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Metal Teacher degree programs can transfer to the vertical. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Relevant grading is applied to courses and min grade has to be DD for passing the course and min grade is cumulatively CC to be graduated. The course evaluation criteria are defined for each course by the instructor(s) of the corresponding course and are given in the Course Description Form found in the information package. |

The Associates Degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed all 2 years courses with a total 120 ECTS in the curriculum, including 40 days (8 weeks) of internship and have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00/4.00 scale without any failing grades. |
