: Textile Engineering

General Description

History

Dokuz Eylül University Textile Engineering Department, founded in 1997, has achieved to become one of Türkiye's leading textile education and research institutions with the help of academic staff, educational programs that renewed accordingly to the scientific developments and industry feedback, and research infrastructure created in parallel with modern technology.
In our department, education and training activities carry out on Tınaztepe Campus, English preparatory class is compulsory and 30 % of lectures are in English for bachelor's degrees.
In addition to the elective course programs and internship opportunities implemented by our department, student exchanges, and personal development within the framework of Erasmus and Farabi programs have been offered for the students. In addition, our department has minor and double major programs with Industry, Mechanical, Mining, and Metallurgical Materials Engineering Departments.
Textile engineers graduates can work in yarn, weaving, knitting, finishing and apparel factories, companies that sell textile materials and chemicals, import and export intermediary institutions, textile laboratories, R&D centers, and various public and educational institutions.
In addition to undergraduate education, graduate and doctorate education is given in the Textile Engineering Department of the Institute of Science. 30% of the courses in the graduate program are in English.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of Dokuz Eylül University Textile Engineering Department is; Having an engineering formation, with comprehensive and up-to-date information in the field of textile engineering, being aware of the effects of the textile industry and the solutions of these problems on the society and the environment, considering the productivity and price relations regarding textile production and problems, designing and developing the textile base and in this way, to educate engineers who have the power and ability to adapt work differently.
Our department has academic staff, each of whom is an expert in their field. Dokuz Eylul University Textile Engineering Department Undergraduate Education Program has been accredited by the Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MÃœDEK) since 2009, and the European Label (European Accredited Engineer (EUR-ACE) Label) has been shown as a whole throughout the accreditation period.
Students who are entitled to study in the department attend basic textile and engineering courses in the first year of the program after the English preparatory class. They take more detailed textile lessons in the second and third years. In the last year of their education, in addition to the compulsory courses, they can take courses from textile, science / engineering and social elective courses related to the field they want to specialize. Students must take at least 30% of the courses in English during their education.
Students studying in our department have the opportunity to continue their education for one semester abroad universities that have an agreement within the framework of the Erasmus program. In addition, our department has minor and double major programs with Industry, Mechanical, Mining, and Metallurgical Materials Engineering Departments.
In addition to the educational activities in our department; Analysis and consultancy services are provided to modern laboratories, companies in public institutions, public institutions, and reporter companies. The laboratories of our department have been accredited by TÃœRKAK in accordance with the standard of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 "General Conditions for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories". Our department has Physical Textile Tests Laboratory, Fiber Application Laboratory, Finishing Laboratory, CAD Laboratory, Fastness Laboratory, Yarn Workshop, Microscope Laboratory, Weaving Workshop, Design and Animation Laboratory, Knitting Workshop, Printing Service Laboratory, Garment Workshop and Comfort Laboratory.
Diploma Supplement is given for all graduated students since 2011.
