Course Objective

1. To give general knowledge about yarn, yarn structure and yarn formation.
2. To explain fibre properties effecting yarn properties.
3. To give information about yarn count and yarn twist as structural yarn parameters.
4. To define spinning technologies considering the yarn staple length.
5. To give detailed information about blowroom and spinning preparation processes.
6. To introduce kinematic diagrams.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have general information about the definition, structure, formation and production processes of yarn.
2   To recognize the fiber properties that affect yarn properties.
3   To have knowledge about number and twist which are yarn structural properties.
4   To have detailed knowledge about the blowroom in cotton yarn production.
5   To have detailed knowledge about carding, draw frame and combing machines in cotton yarn production.
