Course Objective

It is aimed to provide basic information on the general properties of fabric structures that are used in technical textiles production, finishing treatments of technical textiles, joining techniques, electronic textiles and textile composites.

7 Finishing treatments of technical textiles: water repellency, water resistency, UV protection
8 Joining techniques of technical textiles (US sewing, hot-welding, adhesion)
9 Electronic textiles: Design and application examples, Thermal protective textiles, military textiles
10 Textile composites: General properties, production methods
11 Textile composites: textile reinforcements and design
12 Sustainability and environmental effects of technical textiles
13 Sustainability and environmental effects of technical textiles
14 Student assignment presentations: Product designs for different usage areas of technical textiles
