General Description
History |
Doctoral Programme in Labour Economics and Industrial Relations has started up in 1985 and since then, it produced 74 Ph.D. graduates. The objective of the programme is to educate scholarship experts having the qualifications of a scientist who have the ability to conduct independent and original scientific research and to generate knowledge and methods in the issues related with working life. Labour Economics and Industrial Relations Department is conducting research and education activities with 7 professors, 5 associate professors, 4 assistant professors and 13 research assistants. |

Second Cycle (Master's Degree) diploma; a minimum Cum. GPA of 80/100 or 3/4; a minimum score of 60 from the nation-wide Academic Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in the related field or GRE/GMAT equivalent; a minimum score of 60 from the Foreign Language Exams (ÜDS/KPDS/YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL) or from equivalent foreign language proficiency exam approved by OSYM. Transcript; a minimum score of 75 from the graduate school academic proficiency exam. |

Profile of the Programme |
PhD Programme of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations has aimed to reach universal and contemporary arguments about area through inter-disciplinary perspective. The objective of the programme is to educate scholarship experts having the qualifications of a scientist who have the ability to conduct independent and original scientific research and to generate knowledge and methods in the issues related with working life. The Programme includes courses on the fields of Labour Economics, Industrial Relations, Social Politics, Social Security, Labour Law, Sociology of Work, Psychology of Work and Human Resources. There are optional courses which are given in English, German and French (9% of all courses). |

Graduates of the department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations, with the doctoral degree, can be employed as academician, researcher, have employment opportunities in public institutions such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Social Security Institution as manager or expert, can be employed in private sector in various positions such as manager, expert and consultant. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Evaluation and assessment methods for each course is defined in the the Course Description Form which is prepared by related faculty member / s and included in the information package. Exams and course success notes is subject to the relevant articles of the DEU Regulation on Graduate Education. |
Graduation Requirements |
Third Cycle (Doctorate Degree) Program with thesis is comprised of courses (84 ECTS), a field study (3 ECTS), seminar (3 ECTS) and thesis (150 ECTS), in total 240 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/S/TP grades. |
