History |
Department of Pediatric Nursing was established with the approval of Senate within the body of FHS on September 26, 1994. The PG program of Pediatric Nursing started education in 1999. The program lasts for totally 2 years; 1 year for courses and 1 year for thesis. The language of the program is Turkish. |

Specific Admission Requirements |
Bachelor s Degree; having obtained at least 55 from relevant branch of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) or from exams equivalence of which are accepted; in case of graduate of Faculty of Medicine having obtained at least 50 from Medical Specialty Exam (TUS); having obtained at least 50 from Foreign Language Exam (YDS) or from other foreign language exams equivalence of which are accepted or at least 55 from the exam held by DEU Foreign Languages Institute. Transcript; having obtained at least 65 from the Post Graduate Science Exam. |
Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective. |
Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
The student is required to receive courses that correspond to 54 ECTS, receive profession that corresponds to 2 ECTS seminars and 4 ECTS and complete the thesis study that corresponds to 120 ECTS in order to graduate from the program. The average grade should be at least 2.50 / 4.00 for each course. |
Profile of the Programme |
The objectives of this programme are provide contemporary knowledge to meet roles and responsibilities of pediatric nursing; to use the current knowledge and skills on patient care management. Program contains 4 Compulsory Course each semester and elective courses in different pediatric nursing fields. Students may take courses from different programs and university. |

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
Assessment of students was done with 1 midterm examination, 1 final examination, homework and project studies. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades. |
Graduation Requirements |
Students are required to complete 120 ECTS credits in order to graduate. They should complete their courses successfully with 60 ECTS. They should have an average grade of at least 2.50 4.00 in order to be successful in each course. Besides, they should complete the thesis project and present it in the face of the jury to be accepted. |
