General Description

History

Dokuz Eylül University Social Sciences Institute is established in 1986. Management and organization main branch of science non-thesis program has still been providing training. The purpose of this program is to make students gain a deeper knowledge about professional practice and teach them how to use the available information. It is aimed to raise well-equipped human resources which have basic principles, strategies, techniquies of modern business management and are able to analyze and interpret the problems and needs within management for private and public sector.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

1,5 years, 2 semesters per year, 16 weeks per semester, 90 ECTS in total.

Profile of the Programme

Dokuz Eylül University, Social Sciences Institute, Business Administration Department, Management and Organization non-thesis master program has 9 instructor and 3 research assistant. Number of the laboratories used by both students and to conduct courses is 3 and is open from 8.30 to 17.00 weekdays. Wireless connection is available. Language of the program is Turkish.

7   To be able to improve skills in order to make decisions, predict the results of the decisions and making realistic predictions and creating strategical approaches by considering cause and effect relationships.
8   To be able to make analyses considering internal ve external environments of organizations.
9   To be able to learn strategical, tactical and operational dimensions of business management.
10   To be able to apply the main functions of human resources management.
11   To be able to use entrepreneurship skills.
12   To be able to have the ability of making research in accordance with scientific principles, data analysis and extraction and interpretation of results in social sciences.
13   To be able to integrate the knowledge in the field of business management and organization with different disciplinary fields.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

Students which have master degree from Management and organization non-thesis master program can find jobs at public institutions, firms and marketing research businesses in several positions. Besides, they can be research assistant, lecturer and instructor at universities.

Graduates may apply to the related employment positions in their area of specialization.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

All courses in Management and Organization non-thesis master program are compulsory. Students who are successfully done courses have to conduct and achieve a project. If necessary, prerequisite courses can be taken from undergraduate. There is no internship possibility. First term courses are related with theoretical introduction to and principles of the area. Second and third terms are more likely turned to analysis and interpretation ability and researches.

Graduation Requirements

Second Cycle (Masters Degree) Non-Thesis Program is comprised of courses (at least 75 ECTS), Term Project (15 ECTS), in total 90 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/ S / TP grades.
