Course Objective

To provide an overview of the fundamentals of downstream processing for separation and purification processes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn effective strategies of downstream processing based on characteristics of biomolecules.
2   To understand general principles of purification and separation methods.
3   To gain knowledge of different methods and equipments used in the laboratory and industry.
4   To be able to choose and apply appropriate purification and separation methods on the basis of a simpler problem.
5   To be able to make mathematical calculations about purification and separation systems.
