Course Objective |
Some of the historic buildings that have partly or fully survived have been turned into museums. In most cases this practice helps preserve the buildings but in some situations the conservation principles are not taken into consideration. This course will discuss the good and bad examples of museum conversions. Examples will be from both Turkey and abroad. Local museums in Turkey usually use historic buildings. That is why they will be a subject of this course. The function of the local museums and their collections will also be explored |
