Course Objective


During this course, the student realizes the functions of socio-cultural values and norms as the basic building blocks of the social structure and evaluates the main role they play in the construction of social identity. and analyze the formation process of social identity through the models put forward by theorists who are representatives of these approaches.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to look at social identity with a sociology perspective by distinguishing the visible forms of social identity as a social reality.
2   As a social problem, by seeing the relations caused by their identity and reflections, they will gain the ability to analyze sociologically.
3   Will be able to interpret social events about the reflections of identity within the framework of sociologists and their theories and will be able to look critically.
4   will gain scientific competence in the reflection areas of social identity and the enlightenment of the problems that arise.
5   They will develop research projects, perspectives, concepts and gain scientific competence, which will understand, explain and base scientific identity and marginalization, self and identity and its reflections.
