Course Objective

Targets of this course include to learn chronological, historical progress of `Belagat , comprehend its aesthetic structure and resources; to learn `Bedi , `Beyan and `Meani ; to inform its characteristics, structure, genre and aestheticism of classical Turkish Literature.

Works on belagat and its assessment. 2 Rhetoric 3 `Meani and its content. 4 `Beyan and its content. 5 Bedi and its content. 6 Aruz prosody 7 Mid-term Exam 8 Practice on Aruz prosody. 9 Rhyme 10 Kaside, ghazal, Mathnawi, Kıt a, Rubai, Tuyug and Müstezad definition, historical progress, characteristics . 11 Musammats (müselles, murabba,terbî, tahmîs, tardiyye, tastîr, müseddes,tesdîs, müsebba, tesbî ). 12 Genres in Divan Literature (tevhid, na t, sâkiname, ghazavatname vs.) and their definitions.. 13 Terms about Old Turkish Literature (istinsah, müstensih, müellif, telif eser tenkitli metin, tazmîn, nazîre etc.) 14 Final Exam
