This course is based on a comparative analysis for the image of West in the East and Orient in the West. In this context, firstly the relations between the Middle East and Europe are examined from a historical-sociological perspective. Then, mutual attitudes and perceptions and the underlying reasons of these perceptions are detailed through the primary readings of Orientalism and Occidentalism. |
