Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the students are supposed to be informed of the frequently used composition types by learning the styles used in Ottoman and Iran miniature art. After introducing the related sources published before, the instructor will guide the students to get the visual materials related to Iran miniatures, especially the ones in the Safavid Dynasty period. The traditional and modern materials, such as paper, paint and the others will be introduced so that the students could use them in their original applications, and that they could apply a story belonging to Ottoman period originally. The instructor will try to have the students make out a composition and discuss the designs. During the designing stage, the discussions on the sketches and compositions will be realized in the first and last lessons every week by the instructor.
