Course Objective

There are fixed and animated calligraphy in religious and civil architecture. The content of this course will be applied on different surfaces and different materials in order to improve the skills of making these techniques on plastered surfaces.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of the education given in this course; to have a distinguishing knowledge about the technique of the engraving applied in architecture;
2   have exclusive and rare skills by means of accumulated knowledge about the materials and experience in execution.
3   be able to use this methot together with the means of expression of contemporary art,when required.
4   be able to realize professional applications with this technique,when requested.
5   Thanks to this special equipment, it can be easily included in the restoration works; It is expected.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1.Students are provided with theoretical information about the Kalemis Technique,together with visual examples.
2.It's expected that the students will prepare and deliver a project presentation file intended for execution,that also contains information about the designing stages.
3.Students will prepare a term homework about Fresco.

1.Directing students to research aims to reinforce theoretical knowledge.
2.Project presentation aims to develop necessary discipline to prepare a professional portfolio.
3. Application performance during the semester is observed in order to evaluate the productivity concerning the class.

Course Policies and Rules

The course begins by performing the theoretical explanation of the relevant subject, visual drawing and personal application stages according to the lesson plan. Those who arrive after the start of the lesson are entitled to half an hour. Even if the next ones are taken to the lesson, they are considered as half lesson attendance. All attendance will be evaluated with the rate stated above. Towards the end of each lesson, the subject to be covered in the next lesson is presented to the student as a study-research subject.
