Course Objective

The aim of this course is to have the students practise on programs and have them work at the advanced level by working in accordance with the designs made on computer as to the departments of Carpet-Rug, Fabric, Tile and other Traditional arts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   draw motifs by a pixel-based program, and make some applications by these motifs
2   make drawings in accordance with the fixed sizes by using a pixel-based program
3   in their designs, work on the colours, textures, lines by using the figures
4   make fitting practices suitable for Carpet-Rug, Fabric and Tile projects on a pixel-based program
5   apply the practices which will realize the designs ideally and timely.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the students are supposed to copy various design samples and similar ones, and to make scaled practices, and relievo and fitting samples. In this way, they will be able to gain experience on computer programs and design works.

Assessment is based on 30% homework, 10% midterm exam, 60% final exam and makeup exam.

The students will be evaluated by their skills to use the knowledge and practices correctly and to finish the work timely.

The students who come to class 15 minutes late won t be accepted into the class and will be considered absent.
