Course Objective

This course aims at the perception and reading of the concept of media and its aesthetic qualities in today's culture. It also examines Media Esthetics in historical perspective. It evaluates descriptive images in the framework of the subcomponents of
the media concept. Media - reality, media-daily life, advertising and propaganda are evaluated from a critical perspective.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to define media concept, to be able to see transformation in historical perspective, to be able to define sub-components of concept
2   Will be able to discuss media and communication concepts and contents
3   Will be able to discuss communication, News, Information, Desenformation, Media Relations
4   Will be able to discuss the concept of media in related propaganda techniques, art, and advertisements and their transformation
5   Can Explain Media Mass Culture, Popular Culture relations and their functions
