Course Objective

The fact of revelation that makes up basis of the three monotheistic religions is analyzed in terms of what it means and what is meant to believe in miracles. Belief in the miracles and revelation are evaluated with regard to the epistemological, metaphysical and psychological possibilities. What is the relationship between miracles and revelation is analyzed with regard to their elements, and is showed to philosophical methodology. To introduce some analyses and critics after giving information about religious experience; to provide general look about how it could be emerged an idea of such religion that away from myths and fake beliefs

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student will have a general knowledge about the concept of revelation and miracles.
2   Student learns about epistemological, ethical, metaphysical, psychological, social, and moral possibilities of revelation and miracles, and they will be able to analyze the problems of the matter to be imposed or issued.
3   The student understands what kind of relationship was established between the science and miracles.
4   Student, at the end of the semester, will get knowledge about; the nature of religious and mystical experiences; its structural and functional aspects.
5   They will get knowledge about philological analyses of religious and mystical experience

1 Concept of Revelation and its meaning (General Revelation, Special Revelation and Elements of Revelation).
2 Epistemological Possibility of Revelation (Natural Theology and Revelation, Revelation as a Knowledge Source.
3 Revelation and Language Problem.
4 Metaphysical Possibility of Revelation (Felasife's Concept of Revelation and Gazali's Critics).
5 Nation of Christian Revelation and Concept of Logos.
6 Religious Experience and Revelation.
7 Comparison of Revelation and Miracle in terms of Elements and Aims.
8 Midterm Exam
9 The nature of religious and mystical experience.
10 Intuitions and religious experience.
11 Pragmatic sides of religious and mystical experiences.
12 Belief value of religious and mystical experience.
13 The subjectivity and objectivity problem of religious and mystical experience.
14 The contribution of religious and mystical experience to the morality.
