Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of Hellenistic history and civilization, the Ancient Greek civilization, and the Ancient Roman civilization.

1   The scientific literature on the Old West literature
2   The scope of the Old West literature
3   The history of Antique Greek literature
4   The history of Antique Roman literature
5   The contribution of the Antique Greek and Roman literature on the history of European literature
6   Ability to indicate the major poets and writers of the Hellenic and Latin literatures

5 Lyricism: The types of poetries, the first philosophers, Logographes- Herodotos Tour to antique cities
6 The period of Attica: Tragedia, Komedia Lecture
7 The Hellenistic Period The Roman period Lecture
8 Midterm
9 The beginning of the Latin literature Lecture
10 Comedy, the development of prose Lecture
11 Lucretius, Catullus and their colleagues Lecture
