Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to introduce the development phase of civilizations in the Anatolia during the period from the end of the Early Bronze Age to the Iron Age with the support of archaeological and epigraphic data.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have the scientific literature related to the content of the course.
2   Define the main concepts and facts related to the subject.
3   Distinguish the political situation and technology used in daily life in Anatolia during the Bronze Age.
4   Explain the characteristics of the trade in the period of Assyrian Trade Colonies and the process of the use of writing in Anatolia.
5   Analyze the political history of Hittite.
6   State the elements that the Hittites brings to the world civilization.
7   Evaluate the developments of the Anatolian civilizations in 1000 BC and their effects on Western world.
