Course Objective

The aim of this course is to train specialist nurse that have the characteristics of universal scientist and enough skill and competence for the protection and development of individual, family and society in the area of public health

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describes the basic concepts of public health and public health nursing,
2   Explains the health indications of society and social, economic and cultural factors affecting health.
3   Explains the concept of primary health care, defines the responsibilities of people and institutions in service provision
4   Explains the role of the nurse in defining environmental health problems, taking required precautions and make the society gain awareness in Turkey and in the world.
5   Explains the policies/ legislations about public health service and provision of it.
6   Compares different organization models about the provision of health service in Turkey and in the world.
7   Know the responsibilities of the health of the community protection and promotion.
8   Explains the importance of cooperation with public, private or other institutions in the society
9   Makes effective communication verbally, in written and in other ways,
10   Knows the ethical rules in public health applications.
