Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop and maintain continence in women, to evaluate women with lower urinary tract symptoms, treatment methods and to gain knowledge and skills related to the field-specific nursing approach

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the structure and functioning of the lower urinary system in women
2   To learn the historical development of urogynecology nursing
3   To know and use the current standardized terminology related to urogynecology
4   Discussing and discussing urogynecological problems at world and country level
5   To discuss the effects of urogynecological problems on women and their families by considering them together with nursing approaches
6   To be able to analyze and apply the current literature in accordance with scientific research methods in order to form innovative care strategies to develop nursing approaches in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of urogynecological problems

4 Clinical guidelines and practice standards in urogynecology nursing
5 Lower urinary tract symptoms, risk factors, incidence in our country and the world
6 Basic diagnostic tests in urogynecology, and evaluation of women and current evidence-based approaches
7 Current approaches in conservative treatment of lower urinary tract problems and nursing
8 Current approaches in surgical treatment of lower urinary tract problems and nursing
9 Improving healthy lifestyle behaviors and prevention of lower urinary tract problems
10 Evaluation of the effects of urogynecologic complaints on quality of life and sexual life in women
11 Relationship between urogynecological problems and pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period
12 Complementary, current approaches in medicine applications used in urogynecology
13 Ethical issues in urogynecology
14 Course assesment and discussion of suggestions
