Course Objective

: The aim of this course is to familiarize graduate students with qualitative research methods and help them understand how research questions that can be answered with qualitative research methods are developed, how to collect data using appropriate data collection methods and how to make sense of these data.

1   1. Understand the theoretical foundations of qualitative research methods.
2   2. Write appropriate research questions for various types of qualitative research.
3   3. Understand and apply data collection methods suitable for various qualitative research types.
4   4. Understand and apply data analysis methods suitable for various types of qualitative research.
5   5. Understand how validity and reliability issues are handled in qualitative research.
