Course Objective

The outstanding objective is to evaluate the programs that also consider the future and that are developed from local to national levels instead of daily decisions together with development objectives as a whole on the basis of new developments in public administration. The ground for local legislation bases the construct in the fulfillment of services on strategic planning. The issues are based on what is strategic planning , guide information, implementation models at central and local levels and relations of central and local governments. In addition, Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), means for implementation of sustainable development and in the strategic planning of the field, will be examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Appreciate environmental impact assessment s importance which is the tool of environmental management in European Union
2   Initiating administrative responsibilities and legislation and provide awareness of Environmental Impact Assessments and Strategical Environmental Assessment missions which become a problem Turkey s EU harmonization studies.
3   Analyzing sample of environmental impact assessment reports and observing the lacking of Turkey
4   Able to prepare different fields of environmental impact assessment
5   Able to prepare strategical environmental assessment areas and measuring the achievement of plans.
