Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the students to gain the ability of execution of
interdisciplinary work with related disciplines, to develop convenient analyzing,
inventorying technics and planning decisions and language in multi-layered towns by
ensuring them to comprehend the duration of formation of archaeological stratification
and to learn the urban and preventive archaeological approaches which steers
conservation process in multi-layered cities.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to define the charecteristics of the multi-layered towns (knowledge)
2   Will be able to define the basic concepts as rescue excavation, scientific
3   Will be able to distinguish the specific methodologies of urban archaeology and preventive archaeology (comprehension)
4   Will be able to organize joint works with related disciplines in multi-layered towns (application)
5   Will be able to propose appropriate conservation decisions and planning language for multi-layered towns (analysis)

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given through lectures. Students will learn topics by attending
and listening to the lectures and also by prepearing and presenting the assignments
that will be given to them.
