Course Objective

Geomorphology is an interrelated science branch with engineering, geology, hydrogeology, geography and agriculture disciplines. Particularly in the engineering fields,description, techniques of measurement and presentation. The aim of the course is to learn the techniques of collecting geomorphological data for purposes of application in the context of geological cause and geomorphological result relationships.

1   To be able to interpret geomorphological maps (UNDERSTAND)
2   To be able to transfer surface morphology to map in the field (APPLICATION)
3   To be able to relate weathering to surface morphology (ANALYSIS)
4   To be able to describe and analyze slope profiles (ANALYSIS)
5   To be able to assess shore morphology (ANALYSIS)
6   To be able to assess river beds (ANALYSIS)
7   To be able to create geomorphological maps (SYNTHESIS)

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Telling the subjects visually and auditory whivh are given in the course content and doing field practices of this subjects during education face to face. To understand and to learn by practice and to prepare personal homework on practice subjects.

1. Theoretical information that learning outcomes include will be measured by midterm exam and homework presentation (LO 1-7).
2. Field practices will be measured in practice exam (LO 1-7).
3. All the practice subjects will be measured by the homewok (LO 1-6).

Assessment Criteria

The basic criteria in assessment of homework is that the student should do the practices by himself/herself.
