Course Objective |
Urban renewal, which is one of the technical tools of spatial planning, plays an important role in the realization of a physical and social design by involving the work of reviving old, deteriorated and worn-out urban parts. Today's global dynamics cause changes in the functions of cities and transform urban areas into control centers where production-related decision-making and orientation processes take place, rather than places where production and the circulation of goods take place. The realization of such a change brings along the transformation of urban land use types as well as the functions of the city. Within the scope of the course, the changing content of the phenomenon of renewal in urban planning and especially the transformations created in urban areas in the globalization process will be discussed. |
