Course Objective

It is possible to think about city and urban space through its past. This means that
it is necessary to write down its spatial history depending on economic and social
relations in city. Thus it will be possible to understand the ways of delivering the
possibilities and techniques of either the city or the historical areas in the
future. In this course, alternative historical writings of city and urban space and
possible conservation techniques will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will be able to recall a significance of history of city and space, (Knowledge),
2   will be able to explain as an alternative way to urban history based on spatial codes and phantasmagorias of space (Comprehension).
3   will be able to interpret to the relation between time and space (Application),
4   will be able to question causes of spatial formation (Analysis),
5   will be able to judge inability of conventional data sources about city and urban spaces that are used to understanding their history (Evaluation).
