Course Objective

This course aim to examine competitions both architectural products in the production as a method and intellectual avant-garde architecture in the sense premise production process not only building production all layers. Example of building obtained by competition research and discuss in Turkey and world within the scope of this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to observe changing architectural competitions as a method of obtaining products in Turkey and in the world
2   To be able to comprehend competition of liberal environment out of the obtaining architectural products in the meaning of premise to generate ideas
3   To be able to observe with the effects of building obtained by competition in countries architectural panoramas and to be able to evaluate considering the periodic refractive competitions and contests culture of this fracture
4   To be able to observe multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary study opportunities the contribution of culture to the competition
5   To be able to comprehend and analyse some of the participants in the resulting product ruling multi-layered components just as the jury, the government
6   To be able to express researching with relationssip culture of competition and architectural form using visual, written and vocal

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures: Theoretical lectures will be given and applied presentetaions.
Researchand Design Excercises: Students will be expected to present their projects. However, design exercises or workshops will be practiced at the end of the term. Students must actively participate the courses all term.

Assessment Criteria

Exams covers the reading texts and presentations made during the theoretical part of the course. Assignments might be given in the light of group presentations and weekly discussions and prepared individually. In order to achieve the final exam, it is highly recommended to submit all assignments on time and regularly, and revise them with the guidance of the instructor. Group presentations require a collaborative effort. It is the group's responsibility to ensure that each group member contributes to the group work equally. Student participation will depend on, the student's attendance, the quality of student's responses to the questions during the course and the student's contribution to create a positive learning environment.

1. The participation of the %70 of the courses is mandatory.
2. Late submissions will be subject to a different evaluation.
3. All kinds of plagiarism will result in a disciplinary action.
4. Instructor might do quiz or exercises in the term. Their marks will be considered in the general average.
