Course Objective

Course Objective:
This course aims to meet the students with the concept of historical environment, and with the fields works to realize the students values of urban and architectural characteritics of historical environment and teach how to make documentation in historical environment. Understand and discuss original characteristics urban and architectural features of the historical environment.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The learning process is based on problem based learning. In this frame, the concepts are introduced by theoretical transfers. Understanding and discussion of the urban and architectural characteristics of the historical and cultural heritage by joint criticisms, decisions throughout individual and group criticisms are provided. The performance of the students are observed and recorded via the executions in the studio, in the presentations and in the final juries.

Course Policies and Rules

One or more different case studies on different dimensions of conservation problems within the scope of the course are addressed. Decisions are proposed prior to conservation problems. In this context, small-scale documentation work with the use of the knowledge gathered by measured survey internship and works on analysis may be done.

Open-jury may be done for the final submission of the projects.
