Course Objective

This course aims to approaching some subjects that are basic principles concerning urban infrastructure systems and services which are engineering application, features and standards of types of infrastructures, planning, politic and management of urban infrastructure and risks and problems in cities related infrastructure, in accordance with relation between urban planning and infrastructure. In this subject, information is conveyed that planners will be able to need in preparing process of development plans.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to define urban infrastructure and its general features,
2   Will be able to explain basic principles and standards of the types of urban infrastructure,
3   Will be able to discuss the role of infrastructure in creating sustainable environment and liveable cities,
4   Will be able to associate urban infrastructure and urban planning,
5   Will be able to question roles of planning, politics and management of urban infrastructure in city planning process,
6   Will be able to use approach considering parameters, problems and risks of infrastructure projects in planning process,

10 Infrastructure problems in cities - Technical infrastructure planning in creating healthy and liveable cities
11 Technical infrastructure planning - Relation between city planning and urban infrastructure
12 Determining parameters of technical infrastructure projects and services
13 Determination of the technical infrastructure problems and risks
14 Urban infrastructure management and policies - A joint management approach with urban infrastructure and city planning
