Course Objective

This course focuses on the spatial differences between the rural and urban areas in order to create an awareness of this difference especially in the urban planning. Accordingly, this course also aims at questioning the practical questions relating with this topic.

1   to learn what the rural means
2   to list the experiences on the differences between rural and urban planning
3   to interpret the current planning approaches
4   to analyze and to unite the importance of rural area in the production relations
5   to evaluate the approach in the Turkish system to the rural area

Assessment Criteria

Listing, Description ans Analysis are evaluated by the Midterm Evaluation. Unification, Interpretation and Evaluation are evaluated by the Final Exam. If the course will be conducted online (pandemic period), it will be continued with a live course-based online education model.

The course will continue in the form of conference presentations and discussions. Question-answer technique will also be used to increase students' interest / motivation for the lesson.
