Industrial Engineering

Course Objective

It is aimed to introduce the Operations Research topics to the students who take this course for the first time and to show how Operations Research is applied to business problems. Students are expected to learn the mathematical modeling of deterministic problems and solve them with the help of computers and learn how to make smart business decisions from an optimization point of view.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to know the application areas of Operations Research and to identify the problems from real life
2   To be able to develop linear and integer programming models for the solution of engineering problems
3   To have knowledge about solution algorithms of linear programming and integer programming problems
4   To be able to perform sensitivity analysis
5   To be able to build models and create solutions with optimization software
6   To be able to work on projects using linear optimization methods
