Course Objective

Basic information about Tanakh and New Testament, the emergence of the texts that make up these books, their canonization processes, their values as sacred and historical texts, the affirmation relationship of the Qur'an with these texts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The Bible: Its definition, its value according to Jews and Christians, its content, the concepts of the Old and New Testaments, and also the emergence of the texts that make up the Bible
2   Tanakh (Old Testament): Its canonization, its importance and value for the Jewish prophets and Jesus
3   New Testament: Basic information about the Gospels, Acts of the Apostles, basic information on the Paul's letters and the letters attributed to the apostles, discussions about the New Testament, the process of canonization of the New Testament
