Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to give UV-Vis spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, 1 H NMR spectroscopy, 13C NMR spectroscopy techniques which used in the the structural analysis of organic compounds.

1   Explain open structure of organic compounds using spectroscopic methods and theoric knowledge.
2   Learn structures of organic compounds using UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy the method
3   Learn structures of organic compounds using mass spectroscopy the method
4   Learn structures of organic compounds using FT-IR spectroscopy the method
5   Learn structures of organic compounds using 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy the method

5 Mass Spectroscopy, fragmentation, and rearrangements
6 Evaluation of mass spectra
7 FT-IR Spectroscopy
8 Mid-term exam;
9 Evaluation of FT-IR spectra
10 NMR Spectroscopy
11 1 H NMR spectroscopy, chemical shift values, coupling constants and spin systems
12 Evaluation of 1H NMR spectra
13 13C NMR spectroscopy chemical shift values, coupling constants and evaluation of 1H NMR 13C NMR spectra
