Course Objective

The aim of this course is to develop the ability of students to make prewriting activities (brainstorming, listing, topic sentence, outlining) needed to write an academic paper, and then, to write a coherent essay consisting of a thesis statement and supporting ideas. In addition, the course also aims at providing students with the research methods like citation, preparing bibliographies etc.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students are expected to make pre-writing activities,
2   to write coherent paragraphs,
3   to form a thesis statement needed to write a coherent and complete composition,
4   to prepare an outline developing and explaining the thesis statement,
5   to make citations and prepare bibliographies.
