Course Objective

The aim of this course is to make students grasp the problems of history teaching in schools in the world and Turkey and suggestions to solve these problems and to make them gain theoretical and practical equipment to develop new suggestions for the solution of these problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to summarize the emergency and development of history teaching in the World and Turkey
2   To be able to explain the interest of Atatürk in history and importance he attached in history teaching
3   To be able to list the aims of history teaching
4   To be able to grasp the problems of history teaching in the world and Turkey and develop contemporary solutions
5   To be able to interpret the role of curriculums in history teaching
6   To be able to interpret the role of textbooks in history teaching
7   To be able to explain the place and effects of teaching methods in history teaching
8   To be able to explain the place of "History of Turkish Revolution" in history teaching in Turkey
