Course Objective

To provide the student with the knowledge and skills to cope with stressful situations in her professional and personal development and to help the healthy / sick individual respond to stressful situations.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines the concept of stress, its causes, reactions to stress, cognitive aspects of stress, coping concepts and strategies.
2   Explains the relationship between stress-psychological resilience-crisis.
3   Defines the stress reactions and coping behaviors of himself and the people around him/her.
4   Evaluates the effectiveness of coping behaviors of himself and the people around him/her.
5   Identifies effective coping behaviors that can replace ineffective coping behaviors.

1. The student should be able to define the concept of stress, its causes, reactions to stress, the cognitive aspect of stress, the concept of coping and strategies.
2. The student should be able to explain the relationship between stress-psychological resilience-crisis.
3. The student should be able to describe the stress reactions and coping behaviors of himself and the people around him.
4. The student should be able to evaluate the effectiveness of coping behaviors of himself and those around him.
5. The student should be able to identify effective coping behaviors that can replace ineffective coping behaviors.
