General Description
History |
Dokuz Eylül University Graduate School of Social Sciences Maritime Business Administration Department was established in 1993. Under the roof of this Department, Logistics and Maritime Transportation Masters Program started education in 2001. The program aims to educate, improve and expertise its students who will work in the logistics sector, teach them the philosophy of science. The graduates of the program will be able to carry out scientific researches and can be employed as middle or top level managers in logistics organizations both in public and private sector. The medium of instruction of the Program is Turkish. |

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
According to the Regulations of Dokuz Eylül University for Graduate Schools, students are not connected to the right for internal transfer, previously taken courses at another graduate programme by another university with a successful grade may be recognized by the related programmes after the letter of the students includes course contents and the transcript, and by the recommendation of the head of the departments and by the decision of the Board of Directors. The courses taken by the outgoing Exchange students have the recognition at the school either as compulsory or elective. |

Profile of the Programme |
The overall aim of the Logistics and Maritime Transport Non-Thesis Master's program is to provide the logistics and maritime transport industry with prospective managers equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies required by the industry at the specialized levels, well aware of the relevant ethical values and capable of having efficient access to, evaluate and interpret the newly emerged knowledge related to the logistics and maritime transport industry. |

Evaluation and assessment methods for each course is defined in the the Course Description Form which is prepared by related faculty member(s) and included in the information package. Exams and course success notes is subject to the relevant articles of the DEU Regulation on Graduate Education. |
Graduation Requirements |
Logistics and Maritime Transport Non-Thesis program consists of 60 ECTS in total, including related courses (55 ECTS) and Term Project (5 ECTS). Students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50/4.00 and pass all courses with at least CB/S/TP grades. |
