General Description

History

Program duration is 2 years (1 year is course, 1 Year is thesis study) . Program language is Turkish.
Department of Translational Medicine and its master of science programme started at 01.July.2014. Under the supervisor role of consistently developing science and technology, necessity of cooperation has been arose between the basic and clinical medical science departments. While the basic scientific departments of medicine (BSDM) and clinical scientific departments of medicine (CSDM) progress in their unique fields separately, and working / studying like doomed to be alone in their fields , they build up their own language and perspective . Especially in campuses where hospitals and school of medicine were composed together, in order to sustance, feed the research and development centers which are meaningful and valuable to the future, there is a great demand to scientific man power that can speak a common language , that have original ideas and that can discuss and apply these ideas and create employment areas. The aim of this programme is to build a department where a common research and development language can be created that can be a bridge ( From bedside to benchside-from benchside to bedside ) between BSDMs and CSDMs. Department of Translational Medicine (DTM) is an academic and scientific establishment which nestle multidisciplinary specifications that can be shared intellectual characteristics of scientific departments and futuristic plans under an organizational structure. Programme includes compulsory courses and elective courses from separate fields in each semester. Candidates are free to chose courses from other departments, institutes or universities.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Second Cycle (Master's Degree) Programme with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 54 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS), and field study (4 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS) credits. İn total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades.

Profile of the Programme

Master s Degree in Translational Medicine MSc."started education at 2014.The objectives of this programme are obtaining knowledge about improvement in translational medicine, and gaining application, presentation skills, and gaining skills in monitoring new scientific progresses and research knowledge and capability.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Assessment of students was done with 1 midterm examination, 1 final examination, homework and project studies. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB / S / TP grades.
