Course Objective |
To understand the normal functioning of the locomotor system is essential for identifying pathological conditions, and determining the accurate treatment approach to these pathological conditions in the locomotor system. At the end of this course, student will be expected to know articulation, ground reaction forces, moments and external forces and muscle activation as well as the kinematic and kinetic parameters of the gait; understand pathology and determine appropriate treatment approach. Students will also have basic knowledge on orthotic and prosthetic application within the determined treatment approach and their effects on the bones, ligament, cartilage, muscle, tendon and skin. |
