NUTRITION

Our university provides food service to its students and staff with 22 cafeterias by producing quality food in a total of 5 kitchens, including Tınaztepe Kitchen, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Kitchen, Rectorate Kitchen, Faculty of Medicine Kitchen and Gluten-Free Kitchen, which serve within the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. Dining halls serve meals to an average of 12,000 people per day. For evening class students, evening meal service is available at Tınaztepe Central Dining Hall, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Dining Hall, Faculty of Education Dining Hall, Faculty of Medicine Dining Hall, DEU Female Student Dormitory and DEU Male Student Dormitory. Catering services are also available at colleges and vocational schools outside Izmir (Torbalı, Seferihisar, Selçuk, Urla, Kiraz and Bergama).

Our daily menus are prepared with the experience of the cooks under the control of our food engineer and dietician, taking into account the calorie needs of our university students. A 4-course menu is served in our kitchens.

Companies receiving raw materials are required to comply with the Business Registration / Business Approval and the Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law No. 5996.

Technical specifications of food products used in food production are prepared by our food engineer and dietician in accordance with the "Veterinary Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law No. 5996", "Turkish Food Codex Regulations", "TSE Standards" and other relevant regulations.

The analysis of food products used in the kitchens and the meals produced are carried out by the Izmir Food Control Laboratory Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey or by private or public laboratories authorized by the relevant ministry according to their fields of activity, with sufficient knowledge and equipment, accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency or member organizations of the European Accreditation Bodies.

Our students and staff can benefit from the meal service between 11:00-13:30 at noon and 16:00-19:00 in the evening by choosing a weekly or weekly optional day in the cafeterias affiliated to our University with the virtual money they upload to their Corporate Identity Cards from the "pos.deu.edu.tr" internet address.

Dokuz Eylul University serves with a total of 4 canteens, namely the Maritime Faculty Canteen, Textile Engineering Canteen, Medical Dean's Canteen and Physical Therapy Canteen, which are affiliated to the Department of Health, Culture and Sports; in addition to these, many private canteen businesses provide fast-food, cold-hot drinks, packaged meals sales and nutrition services to our students and staff.


Tınaztepe Social Facilities

In our social facility located in Tınaztepe Campus, there are student and staff dining halls and Eylül Restaurant.

Lokal Çatı Restoran

Under the "roof" of our university, it offers a pleasant environment to all our members and students with its renewed appearance and service quality. Our facility is open to the service of everybody.

Eylül Cafe

Located in the Rectorate Campus, Eylül Cafe offers cold and hot drinks, bakery products, soups, fast food and olive oil dishes. All our students can benefit from our social facilities affiliated to the Department of Health, Culture and Sports.
