Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide a detailed understanding of information systems, seen within organizational and societal notions both from technical and organizational perspectives to be basis for new technologies and information systems applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the effects of information systems on business and describe the management, organization, and technology component of an information system
2   Identify and describe important features of organizations that managers need to know about in order to build and use information systems successfully.
3   Define IT infrastructure and describe its components.
4   Evaluate the challenges of managing IT infrastructure and management solutions.
5   Evaluate tools and technologies for accessing information from databases to improve business performance and decision making.
