Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to inform consumers about inventory management, transportation management, distribution network planning and warehouse management s basic concepts and applications. Also, it is intended to teach the students the recent developments in supply chain management.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defining the basic transportation modes and their characteristics
2   Calculating the costs of different transportation methods
3   Comparing and contrasting the advantages and disadvantages of different distribution networks
4   Defining the basic concepts about inventory management and computing inventory costs with different methodology
5   Examining the concepts of warehousing, shelf order and facility location
