Course Objective

Aim of the course is to arrange the variety and function of herbarium found in Turkey and in the world. Besides, herbarium of the flowering and non-flowering plants are given so that the students determine the function and importantance of arboretum and botanic garden.

1   To comprehen herbarium function and importance
2   To list the first and the richest herbariums in Turkey and in the world
3   To apply collecting plants from the nature
4   To use the techniques which use for sticking the dries samples to herbarium cardboards
5   To apply ticketing to the samples which sticked to cardboards
6   To apply drying plants in presses
7   To make the herbaria of flowering plants
8   To express the importance of botanical gardens and herbarium

10 Uses platform of herbarium specimens.
11 Using flora books and herbarium samples for identification of plant material
