Course Objective

Determine the possible risks regarding the patient safety at medical institutions, identify unexpected incidents occurring at hospitals within the scope of patient safety and apply the required strategies in order to prevent unexpected incidents and errors at medical institutions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Define the basic concepts, objectives and importance of patient safety
2   2. Apprehend both the National and International patient safety targets
3   3. Develop applications in accordance with medication errors and medication safety details
4   4. Develop applications aimed at preventing the surgical errors
5   5. Develop applications aimed at preventing the errors about the SBAR Technic
6   6. Develop applications aimed at preventing the patient fallings
7   7. Define the ethical dimension of patient safety
8   8. Develop applications aimed at preventing the blood and blood transfusion errors
9   9. Evaluate the applications regarding the patient safety
10   10. Apply event notifications in the patient safety
