Course Objective

This course aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge and with examination of cases about human resources management (HRM), to provide students with knowledge and skills for improvement of human resources practices at organizations.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1. Midterm Exam: Midterm exam includes subjects and assignments in the course content (40%).
2. Final Exam: The exam will cover all subjects in the course content. Students are also responsible for the discussion, practice and case studies (60%).
3. Resit: The exam will cover all the topics in the course content. Students are also responsible for the discussion, practice and case studies (60%).

Assessment Criteria

At the end of this course the students are expected to be able to:
1 Explain what human resource management (HR) is and how managers can use HR concepts and techniques.
2 Prepare and write job descriptions, including summaries, accountabilities, job requirements, and job specifications using both the Internet and traditional methods.
3. Describe and illustrate how to go about identifying training requirements.
4. Explain contemporary performance evaluation methods in detail.
5. Explain in detail how wage payment levels, incentive schemes and social assistance should be structured.
