Course Objective

The course is exaimining the relationship between the culture and tourism by showing the complex social and cultural relationships. Thus by this means, course has the aim of gaining the student the knowledge basis for analysing the effect of culture on development, the inter-cultural values, globalization, cultural heritage elements.

1   Analysing the relationships between tourism and culture and between the current events and cultural tourism
2   To be able to explain the basic concepts and theories about the cultural tourism
3   To be able to analyse the relationship between current events and cultural tourism
4   To be able to present information about the tangible and the intangible cultural heritage

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1.Midterm Exam: Mid-term exam covers the topics examined in the course and weekly assignments (40%).
2.Final Exam: Final exam covers all subjects in the course content. Students are also responsible for the discussion, practice and case studies (60%).

Assessment Criteria

Exam papers will be evaluated regarding the level of understanding, as well as defining the causality between the basic concepts and issues of the lecture, ability of giving examples and analytical thought, and using relevant terminology.
