Course Objective

This course aims to familiarize students with theories and perspectives in the sociology of youth and develop a critical approach.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students learn to analyze the link between the emergence of youth as a social category and modernity.
2   Students learn about different theories and perspectives in sociology of youth.
3   Students learn to develop a critical approach for analyzing the history of youth in Turkey
4   Students learn to develop a critical approach for analyzing the role and the place of young people in contemporary societies
